Implementing the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme

Brown pics:

Brown International Academy's mission is to empower
learners to question, wonder, risk, care and act
in the global community.

At Brown, we foster the growth of internationally minded people and create positive attitudes about learning. We’re on our way to becoming a certified International Baccalaureate program, which focuses on the development of the whole child—in the classroom and in the world outside. By exploring themes of global significance melded with the Colorado State education standards, we deliver a strong academic core curriculum, while providing room for children to learn and grow in a nurturing environment.
  • Our award-winning leadership team and teaching staff are dedicated to creating fun, engaging learning experiences every day. Just ask the kids!
  • Spanish language instruction combines with art, music and dance for a complete intercultural program.
  • We offer a Kaleidoscope Corner program for before-and-after school childcare.
  • Our parent-teacher organization and bilingual parent advisory committee organize fundraisers and create community outreach. Come get involved!

Activities and Events

5th Grade Exhibition: As 5th graders at Brown get ready to graduate from elementary school and enter the next phase of their education, they also prepare to present their final assignment: Exhibition. The culmination of several years’ of study under the IB curriculum, Exhibition provides students the opportunity to display what they have learned in the school year’s final unit of inquiry, titled “Heal the World.” Read about it!

Spring Arts Spectacular: Brown is pleased to present the Spring Arts Spectacular, coming up Thursday May 15 from 5:30-6:30pm in Brown’s auditorium. The evening will feature a colorful display of music, dance, performance and fun, where the work of students will be highlighted. Presented through a unique collaboration between the school's teachers of art, music, gym/dance, Spanish, and library science, the art show will illustrate the work of students and teachers in action! Bring your family and friends!

Community Garden: The garden will soon be in full bloom. And it needs YOUR help! Read about the garden, view photos, and learn how to get involved.
