Last year the Brown International PTA spent over $46,000 supporting the great work of teachers at our school. Want to be a part of raising funds and deciding how they are spent to do even more good this year?Join PTA!

READ What Mrs. Tynan-Ridgeway has to say about a project PTA funded:

On behalf of the four of us who attended this summer’s Orton-Gillingham Training, I write to express our appreciation. The week long O-G Training that PTA provided to Diane, Lisa, Amy and I was FANTASTIC! We worked really hard to absorb so many concepts, methodologies, skills and procedures that week. The instructor was the consummate professional and we had multiple opportunities to practice new lessons and collaborate with other professionals!
We walked out of our week long session armed with lesson plans, cards, CDs and an infinite possibility for real-life classroom use–materials we are committed to using in our classrooms and sharing with others in the building! It was especially helpful to have several of us attend the training at the same time so that we can use one another as resources as we implement O-G in our classrooms.
We made a special point of communicating to our instructor and to our colleagues the fact that we were able to attend the training because our PTA had so generously funded it for us. Honestly, the teachers in the room were green with envy & our instructor was impressed! Kerry Loy’s vision and determination led her to advocate for this training and we’re so grateful that the Brown community once again took action to further our professional development.
We thank you for the AMAZING learning opportunity!
