By engaging our community, we can enrich our students’ everyday experience and also supplement our district-allocated budget to benefit students, teachers and every classroom. We strive to create a balance of fun community-building events where our students and families can interact and demonstrate IB attitudes, learn healthy habits and host diverse fundraising events that are fun and increase community involvement. We welcome our neighbors and business community members and encourage everyone to learn more about us and support us in a variety of ways.
PTA membership is $10 per school year and our organization is part of the National PTA. Dues help us maintain financials, insurance, adhere to by-laws and communicate activities to our community. PTA membership is not necessary to volunteer or lend a hand – you are always welcome! More information….http://brown.dpsk12.org/get-involved/pta-membership/

Meetings are generally the first Thursday of the month from 6-7 p.m. during the school year on weeks when school is in session. Please check our calendar for updated meeting dates.
Please check out this video that highlights this year’s 5th grade PYP Exhibition. It was created by DPS. They followed two groups to their excursions and interviewed them right as they prepared for their final presentations.

Hopefully everyone has signed up for your Bloomz classroom sites, and started using the handy Bloomz app. (If you haven’t heard about Bloomz yet, be sure to get a classroom invite code from your teachers).
Bloomz is going to be a fantastic resource for Brown parents and guardians going forward. And to make things even easier, the PTA is moving our private Brown Yahoo Group to Bloomz as well. The new group is called the “Brown Parent Forum,” and every parent/guardian with a current Brown student is welcome to join!
The Brown Parent Forum on Bloomz is a secure, private source for communications, announcements and reminders from the PTA to all parents, as well as a place for parents to share school-related news and photos. Be sure to join, and don’t miss out on anything happening at Brown!
How to Join:
(1) If you haven’t already set up a Bloomz account: go to Bloomz.net and click “Join Bloomz.” Enter the invitation/access code, and enter the information requested. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to request a access code. Click “Join Group,” and wait for approval. Please note you will need a different code to join your child’s classroom. Check your “Home” screen on Bloomz for updates from the group!
(2) If you already have a Bloomz account: log in to Bloomz. On the lefthand side of the screen, click on “Add/Join Group.” Enter the invitation/access code, and wait for approval. Please email email@example.com if you would like to request a access code. Check your “Home” screen on Bloomz for updates from the group!
**The PTA will be shutting down the Yahoo Group. Be sure to join the new Brown Parent Forum on Bloomz right away so you don’t miss a thing.**
A variety of before and after school programs and clubs at Brown are organized by parents and led by teachers, parents, and third-party enrichment vendors. Generally, clubs run in the mornings from 8a-8:45a M-F, and in the afternoons from 4-5, M-Th and most clubs will begin the week of September 11.
Please remember – our clubs are designed for ALL of our students at Brown, and our club instructors have been wonderfully generous about offering scholarships to student who would like to attend a club but aren’t able to pay the fees. Please contact the vendors directly for information on scholarships.
If you have questions or would like to help out on this committee, please email: BrownPTAclubs@gmail.com
We look forward to seeing you in Brown Voyages this year!
