NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM BROWN AND DENVER PUBLIC SCHOOLS

April 17, 2008 - Brown Hosts International Spring Festival May 1. The event will be a joint fundraiser and community building opportunity that embodies the international spirit of the school and its students. Read more.

April 15, 2008 - Brown to Hold Welcome Event for Incoming ECE/Kindergarten Families. Read more.

Feb. 28, 2008 - Brown Holds Ground-Breaking Event for Community Garden March 15. The garden will offer a unique center for community building, with an emphasis on offering the elementary students hands-on experiences that will support the learning of science, social and cultural studies, and art. The project is a collaborative effort between the staff of Brown, the Brown Parent Teacher Organization, Denver Urban Gardens, and Denver Public Schools. Read more.

June 4, 2007 - Joseph Ortega Recipient of Nightingale Award
The fifteen finalists of the Nightingale Awards were individually recognized at the gala on May 12. Mr. Ortega was the honored recipient. Read the DPS news release.

Feb. 27, 2007 - Denver Public Schools Announces 2007-2008 Beacon Schools
Denver Public Schools' Board of Education unanimously granted Beacon School status to eight DPS schools for the 2007-2008 school year.  In Beacon Schools, teachers commit to support a specific school-wide education plan. Read the DPS press release.
