We hope you will find the following information useful as you get to “know the ropes” at Brown and in DPS.
Parent/Student Handbook: Please take the time to review the Parent/Student Handbook. It includes topics such as dress code, discipline, homework philosophy, student conduct and school visits.
Contact Information: Need to notify the school about a child’s absence, or ask somebody about special resources for your child? View key contact information.
Calendar and Brown Community Information: Download the current DPS school year calendar. Reduce Brown’s paper printing costs and get important timely information and calendar reminders by joining our parent-run Brown Yahoo Group. Just email your name, child’s name and grade. In addition, a printed Brown calendar and list of upcoming events (English and Spanish) are distributed through the classrooms on a regular basis. Download Brown’s 2012-2013 School Calendar.
Transitioning Your Child to Brown: Welcome new families! While going to a new school is an exciting adventure, it is also a time of transition and adjustment. We have implemented a new learner buddy system and compiled a few helpful tips for incoming families. Read about Helping Your Child Transition to Brown. Read more about our classrooms. Our ECE and Kindergarten classrooms have particularly helpful information for children new to the school experience. We also have some great tips for the first day of school.
