International Spring Festival 2008
The International Spring Festival 2008 was held indoors this year due to rainy weather. But that didn't stop us from having a fun-filled afternoon. The kids and their families enjoyed festival games and activities, ate delicious foods from Mexico, Japan, France and other cultures, and had the privilege of watching amazing performers in the auditorium - including Native American drummers and Scottish dancers with bagpipes.
In addition, an indoor display of exhibits from Sister Cities International and the Mizel Museum's Bridges of Understanding exhibit graced the school's front lobby. Children toured the lobby throughout the afternoon and learned about the cities of Axum, Ethiopia; Kunming, China; Chennai, India; and Potenza, Italy. The students were able to play musical instruments from these cities, touch currency, view photos, try on traditional clothing, and above all, talk to representatives from Sister Cities and the Mizel Museum about the cultures they were showcasing. Thank you, Sister Cities and Mizel, for sharing your knowledge and passion with our kids!
