Happy December! Hard to believe we are in the final three weeks of this calendar year. Here's what's going on with the PTA next month, and some ways you can get involved/support the BIA community:
🎶 BIA Family Social Event and Karaoke Night
Come hang out with your BIA family on Thursday, December 4th for our winter family social! We'll be gathering at Lot 46 Music Bar, 5302 W 25th Ave in Edgewater from 4-7 PM. Karaoke will be available from 5:30-6:30 PM, so join us for drinks, relaxing conversation, and show off your family's singing skills on stage! Kids are welcome to join! The PTA will provide light appetizers, and after the fun ends, be sure to grab a pizza to take home for dinner. We can't wait to see you and your family there!
🗓️ November PTA Meeting Recap: Focus on SEL & Bullying
Thank you to Leann, one of our school psychologists, for joining our November PTA meeting and leading a helpful discussion on the SEL curriculum at BIA and how students are being taught to understand bullying. In case you missed it, you can see slides from the meeting here.

👏 Volunteer Thank Yous
We had a great turnout for our Book Fair and annual Thanksgiving lunch last month. A huge thank you to the many volunteers that helped make these events happen, we couldn't do it without you! Thank you to all of the families that took part in the events and fulfilled our classroom wishlists - you are what make the BIA community great!
🌎 International Festival
The annual International Festival is just around the corner on Thursday, February 19. Join the BIA community for one of the best nights of the year as we celebrate cultures from around the world through games, music, and food. We’re looking for volunteers to help make this event possible—if you’re interested in hosting a room focused on a specific culture, please reach out to events@brownpta.org. And start brainstorming your favorite potluck dish to share!
😎 School SWAG
The Bobcat Swag Store is now open, offering adult long-sleeve purple shirts and student short-sleeve shirts in yellow or purple. Ordering is simple through our new platform, and delivery is super easy—shirts will be sent home directly with your student. Check out the store below, and grab a shirt as a holiday gift! ❤️ A Little Extra Support for Your Brown Community
With the holiday season in full swing, some families in our Brown community could use extra support. The PTA invites you to help in two meaningful ways:
Donate to the Food Pantry – Non-perishable food items are always welcome at the front office of the school.
Gift Cards for Families – We are collecting funds to purchase gift cards so families can buy what they truly need, especially non-shelf-stable items. Suggested gift cards include $25 cards to Safeway, King Soopers, and Walmart.
The PTA will collect contributions to purchase the gift cards directly or you can bring them to the front office.

Have you ever wondered what it takes to become a corporate sponsor?! Do you own a business that you would like advertised to our school community? We would love to add more sponsors to our already amazing line up! These sponsorships allow the school to put on community events like Fall Festival, International Fest, Movie Night and the Dance party, in additional to other events to support the school!
