What I love about this role
I love helping to organize the logistics to make our events run as smoothly as possible! This role has also given me the opportunity to meet so many different people and families within our school and community that I wouldn’t have otherwise gotten to know!
Something that might surprise you about this role:
It’s not my job to independently plan what we do at any of our events! The main function of this role is to facilitate logistics with the school, ensure we are staying within budget, and be a liaison to the larger PTA team when additional support is needed.
What the next runner should know
You don’t have to reinvent the wheel with events at Brown! We keep great notes on what worked at past events and what we need to change. There are also volunteer leads for every event who help plan the fun activities, as well as support from the entire PTA Exec team to ensure we are putting on the best events possible for our school. This role serves as the glue.
Baton promise
I plan to stay involved with the PTA Exec team, so I will be around to support the transition of this role! I am just interested in helping in a new capacity moving forward.
Favorite PTA related activity or school event
Movie Night and volunteering in the Library!
Lightning Round: If this role were an Olympic event, what would it be—and why?
Decathlon—juggling logistics, people, timelines, and backup plans, all while keeping the energy fun and the finish line in sight.
