NEW: Join the Brown Community on Konstella phone

Meet Konstella! This year, the PTA is using Konstella as the parent and family side of Brown communications for room parent updates, PTA activities, the school directory, social groups, and more.

To join, download the Konstella app, tap Register, and enter the invitation code: CBCEYD. You’ll add your student and select their classroom during registration.

Not interested in checking another app? No problem. Register once and you can receive announcements or weekly email digests instead. Be sure to add your student to a classroom so that your contact info is available to other classmates.

Note: The DPS app remains the place for official school and teacher communications. Konstella is for the parent and community side of BIA.

Join Konstella here. Questions or suggestions? Email it@brownpta.org.

Meet the PTA: Coffee and Connection Hour

Tuesday, September 1 from 7:45-8:30 a.m. on the BIA Field

Stay after drop-off and say hello! Meet this year’s PTA leaders, grab a coffee and pastry, and hear about the many ways to get involved at Brown. Come for five minutes or stay awhile. New families, longtime families, and everyone in between are welcome. Can’t wait to see you.

Room Parents Needed: Interest Form Closes September 11

Room parents keep our classrooms connected. You pass along teacher updates, help pull together a few classroom moments throughout the year, coordinate special surprises for the teacher, and make sure parents have someone to ask questions to.

Fill out the interest form by Friday, September 11. If a classroom gets more interest than we have spots for, we will choose at random so it stays fair to everyone. All interested caregivers will hear back by Friday, September 18 and Allie and Kathryn, our Room Parent Coordinators, will handle onboarding from there!

The Brown Bike Bus Is Back!

September 9 + September 16 + September 23

Start the morning with bikes, music, and a whole bunch of Bobcats. Three routes roll to school from Sloan’s Lake, Federal, and Lakeshore Drive, all about a 10-minute ride.

Confident riders in 2nd grade and up may ride with the group independently. ECE through 1st grade should have an adult riding along.

Every ride also needs a few grownups to lead, sweep, or help at intersections. You do not have to be a serious cyclist to volunteer.

Dine Out for Brown at Sweet Cowice cream

Monday, September 14 all day long

Ice cream for a good cause? We’re in. Stop by Sweet Cow, mention Brown International, and 40% of your purchase will come back to BIA. Bring the family, meet up with Brown friends, or stock the freezer with a few pints. Every scoop helps support our school.

Peace Day & Day of Service

Friday, September 18

Peace Day is an all-school celebration of service, empathy, and community, put on by the school. Each grade will participate in its own service project, giving students a chance to put the IB Learner Profile into action. Parent volunteers will be needed across grade levels. Watch for more information and opportunities to help as projects are finalized.

DPS Northwest Regional Meeting: Boundary and Enrollment Zone Updates

Tuesday, September 22 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at CEC Early College

DPS will host a Northwest Regional Meeting to discuss boundary and enrollment zone updates affecting schools in our area. This is a DPS-hosted meeting and is an important opportunity for Northwest Denver families to hear what is being considered and stay informed.

First PTA Meeting of the Year: Everyone Is Welcome

Wednesday, September 23 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the BIA Library

Come hear what the PTA is working on, what’s ahead this fall, and where our community could use a hand. You do not need to be a PTA officer or regular volunteer to attend. Bring your questions, your ideas, or just come listen. We’d love to see you. Onsite childcare or a call-in option will be offered to make it easier!

Fun Run Is Coming!

Friday, September 25

One of Brown’s favorite traditions is back. Get those running shoes ready for a day of movement, school spirit, and cheering on our Bobcats. More details, including grade-level schedules and volunteer opportunities, will be shared as we get closer! Thank you to Kim, Lindsey, Teddy, Mary and Keith for organizing.

Critical Volunteer Needs: Help Keep Fall Fun

Thank you to everyone who has already stepped up through our new Your Grade, Your Events model. We have leads for many of this year’s traditions, but two big fall events still need families to raise their hands:

  • Homecoming Parade - September 30 - ALL GRADES

  • Movie Night - October 2 | 2nd Grade

  • Fall Festival - October 23 | 4th Grade

  • Room Parents - ALL GRADES - Submit your application here.

These are one-time, one-year commitments with the full PTA leadership team behind you, and co-leading with a friend is encouraged. You will not be planning or running these events alone or starting from scratch.

If one of these sounds like your thing, please add your name to the volunteer list or email info@brownpta.org. Help us keep these Brown traditions going!

Beyond these roles, there are lots of other ways to get plugged in. Check out these other ways to get involved at BIA.

Your PTA Membership Matters

Whether you simply what to support what the PTA does, show up for one event, or volunteer every week, there’s a place for you here. As a 501c3 nonprofit organization, PTA membership helps is a requirement of our association status, strengthens our organization and support the programs, community events, teacher appreciation, and school initiatives we fund and lead throughout the year. Plus you get to have a say in how we spend our budget and who we elect to leadership. Membership is $15 per year and joining does not mean signing up for a volunteer job. We are grateful for your support!

Become a member today!

And save the date for our next Coffee with the Principal on October 1. More details coming soon!
