Everybody In!

You’ve heard us talk a lot about IB.

Here’s what it actually looks like from a student’s desk.

It’s a 2nd grader telling you, in Spanish, what she had for breakfast. It’s a 4th grader dressed as Katherine Johnson at the living wax museum, staying in character for the whole hour. It’s a 5th grader standing in front of a room full of grown ups at Exhibition, sharing a project she picked herself and researched for months.

Our teachers make those moments happen, and the IB program gives them the tools, time, and support to do it. Here’s what that includes:

  • Spanish class, because IB asks every student to learn a world language

  • Dedicated BIA staff who bring IB to life, like Peace Day, Learner Trait celebrations, International Festival, the wax museum, and 5th grade Exhibition, and who coaches every grade on weaving IB into the classroom

  • Training and certification for our teachers and staff, every year

  • Field trips for every grade, so kids can explore their units of inquiry out in our community

DPS doesn’t fund any of it. Our families do, once a year, together.

We're at 30% participation and $30,000 of our $100,000 goal!

Donate this week for a chance to win one of two raffle prizes - 4 tickets to Adams Mystery Playhouse and 2 Intro to Rope Climbing and Intro to Bouldering class passes from Movement Climbing Gym in Baker.
