Hi BIA Families,

Here’s what’s happening this month with the PTA — short, sweet, and to the point.

3/12 - 5th Grade Books & Bagels
3/19 - PTA Meeting (5-6:30)

3/30-4/3 - NO SCHOOL - Spring Break
📚 Read-a-thon (March 2–26)
Our annual Read-a-thon kicked off this week and runs now through March 26. This is one of our favorite traditions because it builds strong reading habits, brings students together, and raises critical funds to support the IB program at BIA. Our goals this year are 75% student participation and $30,000 raised. Students read, families log minutes in the Read-a-thon portal, and prizes are awarded for top readers, top classes, fundraising superstars, and weekly raffle winners. Be sure to register, look for the 99Pledges email, and start logging those minutes. Questions? Email it@brownpta.org.

🗓 PTA Meeting – March 19 at 5PM (Library)
Mark your calendars and please plan to join us on March 19 at 5:00 PM in the library for our March PTA Meeting. (We also have a zoom option available.) We’ll be discussing special programming at Brown, including ELD, SPED, AN, and GT, and we’ll also share a new approach to volunteer recruitment for Brown’s most beloved community and family events next school year. If you’ve ever wanted a clearer understanding of these programs or wondered how events come together, this is a great meeting to attend.
See the Agenda HERE.
🏃 PTA Recruitment – Passing the Baton
Speaking of next year… PTA Executive Leadership recruitment for 2026–27 is underway! We’ve already spotlighted Fundraising, Events, Secretary and IT, with more roles to come in the weeks ahead. Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or brand new to Brown, there’s a place for you on this team. Fresh ideas, new energy, and diverse perspectives make our PTA stronger — and we’d especially love to see new parents and caregivers jump in and share their talents.
Elections are in May. Reach out to learn more and throw your name in the mix. Scan the QR code or visit https://forms.gle/4NoA52YdRYFrpWit5 to learn more, or email info@brownpta.org.

😎 School SWAG
The Bobcat Swag Store is open, featuring adult long-sleeve purple shirts and student short-sleeve shirts in yellow or purple. Ordering is easy and shirts are delivered home with your student. It’s a great way to show your Bobcat pride — or solve a future gift dilemma.
🚸 Morning Crosswalk Safety
A quick reminder to use the Kiss & Go area for drop-off, signal at 25th & King, and wait for a crossing guard before crossing. These small actions make a big difference in keeping everyone safe. If you’re interested in helping with crossing guard duty, email Nicole at eiselenm@gmail.com.
📸 Yearbook Photos
Don’t forget to upload your favorite school photos so we can capture those candid classroom moments and playground smiles in this year’s yearbook. https://uploads.picabooyearbooks.com/10150475/
🌎 International Festival
The PTA is proud to partner with our school each year to bring the International Festival to life. This special event would not be possible without the dedication of our amazing room hosts and generous teachers who volunteer their time and talents to make each space welcoming and educational.
We are especially grateful to the many families who prepared and shared traditional dishes with our school community. Congratulations to Maddie O. from Dr. Lewis's class for receiving the most stars for her "Secret Rolls" at the International Festival Potluck! A close second goes to Madison and Maven Z. with their Vietnamese Egg Rolls!
