Hello! I’m Ms. Anita Curtiss and 2023-24 will be my first year at Brown International Academy! I have 13 years of experience as a school psychologist and have worked in elementary, middle, and high school (most recently at Denver East). In my role, I work with families and students for crisis prevention and intervention, skill development for empathy, self-awareness, and conflict resolution.

I am eager to continue my journey with the community at Brown from that of a parent, I have two children who attend Brown, to being a staff member on an amazing team! As a transcultural, person of color, I believe it is important that our children’s schools include learning to be global citizens. Shifting thinking and opening up to new people, ideas, and experiences are embedded aspects of the IB/PYP program which is why I am at Brown!

When not at school, I spend time with my husband (Dan), and my kids Cynthia (2nd grade), Elle (Kindergarten), and Kai (age 2). My favorite things to do are go for bike rides, read books, cook, and drink a slow cup of coffee on a rainy day!
